—Opening Reception: 6-8pm, 16 August—
“Yve and Marion” is a duo exhibition by Yvonne Steinberg and Marion Kramer which celebrates two very different perspectives of nature. From the vibrant clusters of blossoms to the expansive, tranquil landscapes, Steinberg indulges in the magical moment of transformation where line and colour unfold and the brush and paint take on lives of their own, charting unimagined territory. The nebulous, aerial world of Kramer is similarly created through the same impromptu, emotional exploration. The restless, palpitating forms of the clouds are delightfully captured through the feeling they induce.
“My world of artistic vision is directed by unconscious drivers and the call to explore. The results are intellectually and emotively mood-driven. Being a grounded and fulfilled person that has many dimensions allows me to express the multiplicity of who I am via my art.” – Yvonne Steinberg
“These pieces are inspired by the brooding forms that take shape in the sky – this poetry, rhythm and drama that seems to contract itself, via cloud formations, light, air and colour. Setting the representational against the abstract, I paint these elements that can’t be held or grasped.” – Marion Kramer
This exhibition will be opened by artist Dapeng Liu, Archibald Prize Finalist.
