SUE McROBERTS
Artist Statement
In this series I have tried to capture the landscape as it is blanketed by mist or smoke haze as it struggles to be seen and heard. The early mornings the way the colours come alive with the rising sun, the softness of the surroundings and the stillness it evokes. To capture a moment of natural beauty that would otherwise fade and be lost forever. As 6 Artists (for the group show, Take 6 – for IWD”), we have often painted together in some beautiful parts of Australia. We each see the landscape in very different ways, we respond in our own individual styles and it gives each of us something unique in return.
