Naomi Charles
Biography
I have always loved drawing. One of my earliest memories relating to art is experiencing the dreamy feeling of ‘getting lost’ in my colouring-in at school at the age of 8.
Studying for Diploma in Fashion Design at the Whitehouse Institute of Design, I truly connected with a few of the subjects – colour theory, art history, fashion illustration and textile design. These subjects brought out the artist within me. In my final year I represented NSW as a finalist in the Witchery Design Award.
After studying, I travelled the world. I visited galleries and loved experiencing the amazing exhibitions and great works of art that have been produced over time. Reading artists’ biographies continues to inspire me, discovering their unique paths and passion for their works. I returned to Sydney inspired and began drawing and painting ever since.
